The East Machias church received a grant in 2003 to enable some restorative work to be done on the magnificent 2 manual 19 rank 1872 George Stevens organ. Wallace & Co. was chosen to restore the Swell division to playing condition and to return the whole organ to proper wind pressure and pitch. The reservoir and feeders as well as a cleaning of the Great division had been done previously. With the Swell division restored, the organ was once again used in concert several times during 2004. While there is much work left to be done, the organ is once again fully playable.
