In the Wallace shop, a small but dedicated staff of crafters young and old works together under David’s leadership. Recent additions to the team include Anton Warde, Ph.D., a retired Professor of German who, like David, has enjoyed a life-long fascination with the instrument and Roy Stephenson, an expert organ builder newly recruited from the United Kingdom, where his experience included 16 years with England’s oldest continuously operating organ company, Bishop & Son, Organ Builders, of Ipswich and London, founded in 1795.
Our shop also provides internships for local area young people. The internships are an opportunity for high school age young people to work in a setting that encourages creativity and initiative and is an introduction to a very unique profession. Being able to see and hear the results of one’s work fosters a sense of pride in what has been accomplished by one’s own hands and dedication.
